CHAPTER 5:
                                                   FINDING AND SUGGESTION

After Six months of industrial training, from 19 June 2017 to 03 November 2017, there are various things to be seen throughout the course of this industrial training. Industrial training is a must-have thing that every student demanding in Polytechnics throughout Malaysia.
The purpose of this is to provide students with the opportunity to see more closely the way they work in their respective departments. Here, I would like to give some comments to Polytechnic management and also the organization I have chosen to undergo industrial training, Namely the Royal Malaysian Customs Johor. Firstly, I would like to congratulate the Polytechnic because with the training of the industry it will expose the students to the world of work real.
Apart from being able to train to become a responsible student, Polytechnics have also given a wonderful experience and experience in every student while undergoing industrial training. This is a good move to form a brilliant and authoritative student. In essence, the Polytechnic management, in particular the management of the industry's training, has been paying close attention to its students. Only before undergoing industrial training is less exposed to the industry to complete the industry training report book.
While the responsible party has held meetings for students who will undergo industrial training and be briefed on the way they are written, it is still insufficient as students are intimidated to make industry report books. For example, the management can show students with a complete set of report books. On the other hand, on behalf of the organization it is necessary to employ more employees so that all matters can be resolved quickly because so far only three employees exclude the director. Organizations should also meet at least once a week. This is to find out if there is a problem facing the workers.
Comment for firms is:
1.              Lack of paper A4
2.              Not working together
Suggestion for PMJ is:
1.    Before the PMJ sent to a firm, it would be preferable to have a questionnaire in advance about the firm. So its help to student during Internship.
 ADVICE AND SUGGESTION FOR POLYTECHNICS:-

The polytechnics must discuss with the firm about the problem because some students will have problems finding a suitable place to stay especially for girls. Students need to be exposed in detail about their rights as long as undergoing industrial training as well as the rights of employers in which industrial training is conducted.
This is because there are cases where students are too much to follow the instructions of the employer so that it burdens the students with the knowledge of their respective rights may prevent the occurrence of unwanted things such as students against employers in the right thing or the firm / company employing students as if they were a company / firm
After receiving the assignment given, each student should be sensitive to the assigned responsibilities. If there are any inconveniences, the student must be brave to ask and to receive assistance from the competent party. This is for the student's own convenience. Rules and regulations relating to firms and polytechnic disciplines should be maintained.
This is to gain the confidence of the firm and keep the polytechnic good. Students who are going to undergo industrial training should prepare themselves with a strong sense of identity in line with the philosophy of state education to produce students who are balanced in terms of spiritual, physical, emotional and mental.
I involve most students who are sent to undergo industrial training with less mental and emotional resilience. The work environment leads the student to be brave and emotionally stable in the face of all the squabbles but there are some students who seem unable to refrain from facing the challenge.
Hence, the credibility of polytechnic students seems to be disputed. Perhaps before semester students for diploma courses and semester students for outbound training courses undergo industrial training, a course of self-improvement and emotional management should be provided to students.

 PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED

Honestly, I have no problem working with all the officers at this branch. The officers here provide a great deal of cooperation to help me undergo my training in the industry successfully. Especially my supervisor here,  Madam Maryani Binti Jamian as Assistant Director of Customs Procurement Branch. He constantly monitors the work I am doing here and ensures I have no problem. The other officers never felt overwhelmed to give me guidance.

The atmosphere of work here is also comfortable. I was placed on a table equipped with a computer for my work use. There are also clean toilets, cafeteria and pantry for use during rest.

The only obstacle found here is that quoting / tender process is difficult. I, as a practical student cannot arbitrarily obtain relevant information. For example, in the quotation / tender process, there is a process of making an estimate of the limit / value of such an acquisition. Although the budgeting process relates to my learning area, Mathematics, but I cannot engage in the process. However, it is imperative that I and the parties involved, especially the PMJ, understand that the prohibition of this engagement is intended to safeguard the security and confidentiality of information. At least, I am exposed to other processes as I stated in the activity / task section I am running here.
